Please Stop Calling it Climate Change or Other

It is global warming.

It is a (provable) fact that if there is a hot surface, and an intervening atmosphere containing CO2 some of the heat radiating from the hot surface will be absorbed by the CO2. It is also a (provable) fact that as the amount of CO2 increases from 0, the amount of heat absorbed will follow an approximate logarithmic relation. At constant atmospheric pressure, this relation is more hyperbolic, but I digress. It is an hypothesis that this relation holds for all concentrations of CO2 up (I have modified this page. The bottom of the page shows the original text. The correct text is “the hyperbolic relation holds for all concentrations of CO2 in all conditios.”. So we all now agree. Increasing CO2 increases heat absorption. Adding heat to the atmosphere is the problem. Adding heat to things warms them up. So please stop calling it climate change or disruption or whatever it is this week. Calling this anything other than Global Warming is mendacious. If you believe in the science, stop giving people like me the opportunity to call you a liar. Get back to calling it global warming.
